The activities for the implementation of four projects for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of municipal roads within the municipality of Popovo have been completed. The municipality of Popovo has been approved for funding for these projects, with the project proposals included in the Bulgarian State Budget Law for 2024. They are published in Appendix No. 3 for capital expenditures under the Investment Program for municipal projects and the projected funding for them.

Repair works have been carried out on four road sections, two of which have been executed by "Bitumina GmbH – Bulgaria" EOOD. The completed projects commissioned by the company are: Reconstruction and rehabilitation of municipal road RAZ 1111 (from the regulation of the village of Drinovo to the regulation of the village of Elenovo), with a total value of BGN 2,645,300 including VAT, Reconstruction and rehabilitation of municipal road TGV 2125 Lomtsi – Elenovo – Makovo from km 0+000 to km 3+623.50 (from the village of Lomtsi to the village of Elenovo), with a total value of BGN 1,864,000 including VAT. Both sections have been put into operation.

The implementation of the planned activities and the investments made aim to improve the condition of the main transport and communication network in Popovo. Through the carried-out reconstruction and rehabilitation of the municipal roads included in these projects, the transport-operational qualities, drainage, and load-bearing capacity of the road surfaces have been restored and improved, resulting in better conditions for road safety.

The projects contribute to enhanced transport connectivity and the modernization of the road infrastructure within the municipality, as well as to the overall improvement and alignment with modern regulatory requirements.
